Biak is Indonesia's eastern gateway. During world war II, Biak was to be one of the home bases of the Allied Forces when attacking the Japanese to used Biak as defense base before finally withdraw. There were thousands of Japanese warriors killed in the island during the war, most of them bombed and burnt in the cave so-called Japanese cave. This cave is not far from town and may easily be reached by car. Besides world war remains, Biak now offers the most spectacular sea gardens in the world. The seas around Biak are dotted by small islands that owns very beautiful varied fish and corals. Diving spots are spreaded around Padaido island, a group of small islands that is accessible from Biak by motorized boat or canoe. farther out is Rani siland and neighborhood islands with more beautiful sea world. In the near future Biak will own a 260-room hotel equipped with marine tourism and 18-hole golf course. compared with other destinations in Irian Jaya, Biak is the easiest to reach as daily flights are scheduled to fly to Biak almost from any parts in Indonesia, especially from Denpasar, Jakarta Surabaya and Makasar.-

By twenty - minute flight south ward, stood another island called Yapen. This island is home to the typical birds of paradise, Parrots, cockatoos and other. On the other side, you are also challenged to explore its natural land with specific sceneries. There are several flights week either from Jayapura and Biak to Nabire,to Manokwari and to Sorong the district capital. To explore the birds community, not all can be reached by car.

Biak Suggested Tours

BIK 01: (4 HRS)

Our guide will meet you at your hotel, and then by coach pax will be visiting some interesting places in Biak. At first pax will be stop at Japanese cave, Binsar museum then visiting the Second World War monument at the Paray village. Continue the trip to Birds Park at desa Rim. After activities here the pax continue visiting Bosnik village and beach. From bosnik then will return to downtown visiting Iriani art shop for souvenir, local fish market then back to your hotel.

KOREM BEACH EXCURSION

BIK 02: (7 HRS)

In the morning our guide will meet pax, then travel northwards through the interior region of Biak island along the palm see the remain of the earthquake and tsunami which was destroyer many buildings, houses, and many people died on February 17,1996 ago.

Talking to the people, and learn way of live from this native people here. After visiting Wari village about 15 minutes driver cross the river through the bridge. In this area pax could swimming and relax on the white Sandy beach. Late afternoon return to down to your hotel.

Our guide will meet pax at hotel, then by coach visiting all the sights and location magnificent during WW II. Begin at Binsari cave / west caves a Japanese base where some eighth thousand Japanese soldier battle against the allied forces. Also pax will visit Paray WW II monument, Onodera sambashi at Tanjung, yasen byoin, a former Japanese army hospital near Bosnik. Visiting 5-chamber cave at desa Riim then back to your hotel.

In the morning our guide will meet you at your hotel, from hotel pax will proceed by coach head westwards to Wardo village and transfer into a small dugout canoe, cruise along the river for Wardo waterfall. Enjoying the birds’ live, and fresh tropical scenery along the way. Make the brief a stop to observe the native people processing sago palms the steeple food or many island people, which are derived from the pitch enroute before heading back down to Wardo village. Back to the town of Biak in the late afternoon.

Our guide will meet you at your hotel at 4.30 am, so please make sure to have an early breakfast. And at 05.00 o’clock in one hour transfer to the jungle, region of eastern parieri island. From approximately 6 am until 9 am you will be hiking along the jungle pathways. On this island, one of which is padaido bawah island, you will be able to leisure, swimming, snorkeling, sun bathing or simply relaxing under the shade of the palms tees. In the afternoon visit the remains of the 43^rd aril bombardment group (“Heavy “), which include four airstrips constructed by the allied forces in 1944. After breakfast at your hotel, then pax will be explored by outrigger boat with our local experience guide direct to Owi Island. Arrive there then pax with guide stop at local fisherman village, walking around and talking to the people, learn the way of life, then continue the trip by boat to Rurbas island for snorkeling, swimming, and collecting shells. Lunch box and mineral water provided by boat to Biak town transfer to your hotel for dinner overnight.

Arrival Biak airport, our guide will meet pax the transfer to Arumbai hotel or Similar. Dinner and overnight at hotel.

After breakfast at hotel then our guide will meet pax then start full day tour visiting Bosnik village, Birds park, visiting the second war world monument at Paray village, west Japanese cave (binsari cave) with war museum, local fish market, and iriani art shop for souvenir. Lunch at hotel or local restaurant. After lunch continue the tour by coach to the north of Biak island visiting the old Korem village where in 17^th February 1996 this area destroyed by earthquake and tsunami killed hundreds of local people, animals and houses.

Arrive Biak airport then transfer pax to hotel for check in. after lunch at hotel. After lunch afternoon war memorial tour visiting Saba farm, Bosnik beach, Yansenbyoin and Onodhera Sambashi at tanjung Bosnik. Late afternoon return to your hotel for dinner overnight.

After breakfast at hotel then pax full day tour visiting Japanese WW II monument at Paray village, visiting east cave at Mokmer village, west cave or Binsar. Lunch at local restaurant in downtown, then continue the trip visiting elementary school and local people at ciabes village, war memorial at ciabes farm then in the late afternoon back to your hotel for dinner overnight.

After breakfast, our guide will pick you to the Jetty then proceed by boat explore to the island of ASAP in Padaido. Arrive there pax snorkeling, swimming, collecting shells and enjoy the Panorama. After activities here then continue the trip by boat to Mansurbabo Island for lunch. After lunch pax swimming and collecting shells. After activities here then by boat return to your hotel. On the way to Biak if Lucky you also could see dolphin are playing near the boat. Arrive at the pier then transfer pax to hotel for dinner and overnight

Arrive Biak airport, meeting service and transfer pax to your hotel Arumbai hotel for check in. dinner and overnight at hotel.

After breakfast at hotel about two hours pax proceed by outrigger boat to ASAP Island. Arrive there pax snorkeling and swimming. Lunch box provided on the white Sandy beach, after your activities here, then in one trip to Mansurbabo Island. Arrive Mansurbabo then prepare tents and food for dinner. Pax snorkeling or swimming on the beach. Pax overnight there.

After breakfast, by outrigger boat sailing to the reefs of mansurbabo for snorkeling and swimming. After activities here the return to your base – camps for lunchtime. After lunch then by boat 15 minutes proceeds to NUSI Island to see and learn the way of life of this people here, mostly these people are fisherman, then late afternoon back to your base – camps for dinner and overnight.

After breakfast pax free leisure until proceed by boat to Biak. Arrive pier then transfer pax to your hotel. Lunch at hotel. After lunch then city tour visiting Japanese cave, Bird Park, fish market and Iriani art shop for souvenir. Late afternoon back to your hotel for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast at your hotel then our guide will pick up pax to the airport for destination.
